EULFC is a club for everyone; the experienced footballers, the beginners and those just wanting to have fun. We are growing in numbers and enthusiasm each year, with the highlight of last season being us winning the league cup in BUCS. We obviously have our sights set high for the upcoming season for our BUCS team, aiming to achieve nothing sort of promotion into a higher BUCS league. With the club still expanding we are looking to improve our season in the Devon Women's League in which we also compete on Sundays. We are always striving to be better as a club and improve our game with three training sessions a week, several coaches, as well as fitness.
In comparison to a lot of other university ladies football clubs we are a relatively small club, though this has not affected our ability to perform. We have had a run of successful seasons, with the first team gaining promotion in to the top BUCS league in 2008 – a big achievement for what was a one team club at the time.
The 2008-2009 was the opening year for the EULFC second team, providing football to those wanting to try something enjoy football in a more relaxed environment within the local Devon league. It also enabled existing players to practice coaching and assisted with passing their FA level one / FA level two coaching qualifications. Several players since being at the University have passed the level one, funded through the university Athletic Union (AU), to support and run the second team sessions. We don’t just work hard on the football pitch though. Banter is most definitely included in EULFC membership!! Wednesday socials are key.If you are looking to start playing football at Exeter then come along. We have some great coaches as well as players who are always willing to help, and training is guaranteed to be a just as good a time as Wednesday socials
Throughout the season there will be so much more than simply training and matches to get involved with! One of the biggest nights of the week at Exeter Uni is a Wednesday. This is social night – all the sports teams have their individual socials with fancy dress themes, then all the clubs meet up in TimePiece (if still standing) for a boogie and a few more drinks at those beautiful student prices – always a great night out! EULFC socials are such a key night of the week... laughter and stories linger for weeks. There will also be a lot more social events built in around the wonderful weekly Wednesdays. One of, if not THE biggest week of the year is tour! It’s a great week - full of football, lash and of course the notorious banter! A great way to get to know your team mates a lot better – a true week of bonding. Every tour is nothing short of epic.
